Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of Polycomb group RING finger protein 6 (PCGF6) in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. The assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and has been validated for specificity toward natural and recombinant rat PCGF6.

According to manufacturer data, the assay delivers a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.096 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.1%. Linearity has been assessed across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (88-98%, 110-120%, 102-113%, 100-110%), EDTA plasma (85-97%, 100-110%, 108-117%, 108-119%) and heparin plasma (91-100%, 101-111%, 80-93%, 86-96%). Recovery averages 95% (range 89-101%) in serum and 97% (range 91-103%) in plasma.

PCGF6, also known as RING finger protein 134 (Rnf134), is a nuclear transcriptional repressor that may modulate histone H3K4Me3 levels by activating KDM5D and acts as a component of a Polycomb group PRC1-like complex which mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A at Lys-119. The protein (UniProt Q5XI70; NCBI Gene ID 309457; molecular weight 39,706 Da) is studied within the epigenetics research area for its links to chromatin remodeling, gene expression regulation, and diseases including cancer, developmental disorders and aging-related conditions.
