Rat Poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 1 (Parp1) ELISA Kit

The assay is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed against rat samples and specificity for natural and recombinant rat Poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 1.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39.4pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is given as 5.3% (Intra CV) and inter-assay precision as 9.8% (Inter CV). Linearity has been evaluated at serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with the following overall ranges across dilutions: serum 84-113%, EDTA plasma 82-120% and heparin plasma 81-116%. Spike-and-recovery testing reports an average of 102% (range 96-108%) for serum and 104% (range 98-110%) for plasma.

PARP1 is described as a poly-ADP-ribosyltransferase that mediates poly-ADP-ribosylation of proteins and plays a key role in DNA repair, including the base excision repair (BER) pathway and double-strand break repair, and the protein localises to the nucleus, nucleolus and chromosome.
