Rat Plp1/Myelin proteolipid protein ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of myelin proteolipid protein (PLP1) in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format to deliver reproducible results in research on myelin-related disorders. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB-based color development.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a working range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Spike-and-recovery testing gave average recoveries of 94% for serum (n=5, range 88-101%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 87-93%) and 92% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 87-101%). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 88-103% / 89-102% / 88-104% for serum, 90-98% / 89-97% / 89-100% for EDTA plasma and 81-99% / 80-97% / 84-100% for heparin plasma (each n=5).

PLP1 is a key component of the myelin sheath surrounding nerve cells in the central nervous system, and abnormalities in its expression have been linked to multiple sclerosis and leukodystrophies. The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
