Rat Platelet factor 4 (Pf4) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of rat Platelet Factor 4 (PF4) in biological samples. PF4 is a chemokine released by activated platelets; it regulates blood coagulation and inflammation and is a useful biomarker in studies of platelet activation, thrombosis, and cardiovascular disease.

The kit is reactive with rat samples and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. It recognises natural and recombinant rat PF4 (UniProt P06765), a secreted homotetramer with a molecular weight of 11,287 Da. Reported synonyms include PF-4, Cxcl4, Scyb4, and C-X-C motif chemokine 4. The assay is read at 450 nm and is intended for research use only.

Published performance figures include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.085 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported as 4.3% and inter-assay CV as 7.6%. Recovery averages 101% (range 95–107%) in serum and 103% (range 97–109%) in plasma.
