Rat Placenta growth factor/PIGF ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit built for the quantitative measurement of Placenta Growth Factor (PlGF) in rat samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format, supporting research into angiogenesis, placental development and the cardiovascular complications linked to dysregulated PlGF expression, including preeclampsia and vascular disease.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit reports a sensitivity of 4.688 pg/mL with an analytical range of 7.813–500 pg/mL, and components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Recovery across serum (n=5) is 94–103% (average 98%), 87–99% (average 96%) for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 92–99% (average 94%) for heparin plasma (n=5). Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 90–104%, 88–102% and 92–104% for serum; 85–98%, 84–101% and 88–101% for EDTA plasma; and 87–100%, 80–91% and 83–100% for heparin plasma.

The procedure involves equilibrating reagents and the TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards and samples for a 90-minute incubation at 37°C, adding biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, developing colour with TMB in the dark for 10–20 minutes, then adding stop solution and reading absorbance at 450 nm. Serum is prepared by clotting blood and centrifuging at 1000 × g for 20 minutes; plasma samples are collected in anticoagulant tubes and centrifuged at 1000 × g for 15 minutes at 2–8°C.
