Rat Peroxiredoxin-5, mitochondrial (Prdx5) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is a colorimetric assay designed for the quantitative measurement of Peroxiredoxin-5, mitochondrial (PRDX5; gene symbol Prdx5) in rat samples. Rat PRDX5 is a thiol-specific peroxidase that catalyses the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides to water and alcohols and contributes to cell protection against oxidative stress. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids and is specific for natural and recombinant rat Peroxiredoxin-5, mitochondrial (Uniprot Q9R063, Research Area: Cancer).

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.453 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 5.5% with inter-assay CV at 8.3%. Linearity in serum ranges from 89-99% at a 1:2 dilution to 102-112% at 1:16; EDTA plasma 99-109% (1:2) to 102-112% (1:16); and heparin plasma 105-117% (1:2) to 107-117% (1:16). Spike-and-recovery averaged 96% in serum (range 90-102%) and 98% in plasma (range 92-104%).

Dysregulation of PRDX5 has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and cardiovascular diseases, making the target a valuable biomarker for related research. The product is intended for research use only.
