Rat Periaxin (Prx) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Periaxin (Prx) in rat samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant rat Periaxin.

Periaxin is a scaffolding protein that functions as part of a dystroglycan complex in Schwann cells. It is required for the maintenance of the peripheral myelin sheath, for normal transmission of nerve impulses, for normal perception of sensory stimuli, for normal transport of MBP mRNA from the perinuclear to the paranodal regions, and for normal remyelination after nerve injury. Dysregulation of periaxin has been implicated in various neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and developing potential therapeutic interventions.

Reported performance figures include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.086 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.2% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Recovery averages 98% (range 92–104%) for serum and 100% (range 94–106%) for plasma. For research use only.
