Rat Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase FKBP8 (Fkbp8) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of rat Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase FKBP8 (Fkbp8) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is intended for research use only and is directed toward cardiovascular research applications.

Reactivity is rat, with reported specificity for natural and recombinant rat FKBP8 (also known as FK506-binding protein 8, Rotamase, FKBP-8, or PPIase FKBP8). FKBP8 is described as a constitutively inactive peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (EC 5.2.1.8) localised to the mitochondrial membrane (single-pass membrane protein, cytoplasmic side). According to the manufacturer, FKBP8 becomes active when bound to calmodulin and calcium, appears to act as a chaperone for BCL2 by targeting it to the mitochondria and modulating its phosphorylation state, and the active form may play a role in the regulation of apoptosis. The UniProt entry is Q3B7U9, with a reported molecular weight of 43,556 Da (NCBI Gene ID 290652).

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.2% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Linearity data across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16, as well as recovery data for serum and plasma, are detailed in the manufacturer documentation.
