Rat PCX (Podocalyxin) ELISA Kit (RTES00638)

The Assay Genie Rat PCX ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of podocalyxin, a sialylated transmembrane glycoprotein anchored to the apical surface of glomerular podocytes and vascular endothelium. In rat research, soluble podocalyxin fragments serve as an early circulating biomarker of glomerular injury, with reported applications in diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, ischemia-reperfusion injury, cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity, and chronic kidney disease progression studies. The kit supports biomarker quantification across biological matrices collected from preclinical rat cohorts and is commonly referenced in publications profiling podocyte damage in toxin-exposure and surgical-injury models.

Each kit is supplied in a microplate format with pre-coated wells, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, concentrated wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution. Plan approximately 50 uL of sample per well, run all standards and unknowns in duplicate, and quantify results against the included standard curve. Reconstituted standards and diluted detection antibody should be aliquoted and held frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles; unopened kits are shipped refrigerated and stored refrigerated until first use.
