Description

PACAP-38 is a 38-amino acid neuropeptide from the VIP/secretin/glucagon superfamily, primarily expressed in the central nervous system where it acts through PAC1, VPAC1, and VPAC2 G-protein-coupled receptors to modulate neurotransmitter release, circadian rhythms, and stress responses. This competitive ELISA from Assay Genie uses a competitive inhibition format with biotinylated antigen and streptavidin-HRP detection chemistry, producing an inverse signal in each reaction well where bound antibody decreases as PACAP-38 concentration rises. Investigators apply this kit to study hypothalamic-pituitary signaling, migraine pathophysiology, neuroprotection models, and rodent paradigms of anxiety and depression where circulating or central PACAP-38 levels serve as quantitative biomarkers of disease activity or treatment response. All kit components arrive refrigerated and should remain cold until first use, with sealed vials protected from light to preserve HRP conjugate activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles of the reconstituted standard.
