Rat OSF-2/Periostin ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of OSF-2/Periostin in rat samples. The double-antibody sandwich format has a sensitivity of 75 pg/mL and a working range of 125–8000 pg/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Kits are stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions is 85–96%, 81–96%, and 86–103% for serum; 82–91%, 81–97%, and 93–100% for EDTA plasma; and 84–94%, 89–99%, and 89–103% for heparin plasma (n=5 per matrix). Average recovery is 95% in each matrix, with ranges of 87–104% for serum, 89–101% for EDTA plasma, and 85–105% for heparin plasma. The assay procedure uses sequential incubations at 37°C, with detection by HRP-Streptavidin and TMB substrate, and absorbance read at 450 nm.

Periostin, also known as osteoblast-specific factor 2 (OSF-2), is involved in bone formation and remodelling, tissue repair and regeneration, wound healing, cardiovascular development, and inflammatory responses, supporting research into conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis, and fibrosis.
