Description

Assay Genie supplies a competitive ELISA kit, coated with antigen, intended for the quantitative measurement of orphanin FQ/nociceptin in rat samples. The colorimetric assay accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and reaches a sensitivity of 0.938 pg/mL across a measuring range of 1.563-100 pg/mL.

Orphanin FQ/nociceptin (synonyms OFQ, N) is a neuropeptide that regulates pain perception, stress responses, and other central nervous system processes. Its dysregulation has been implicated in chronic pain, addiction, and mood disorders, supporting its use as a biomarker in related research. The kit is stored sealed at 2-8°C and must not be cryopreserved.

Validation data for rat samples show linearity in serum (87-105% at 1:2, 84-97% at 1:4, 80-99% at 1:8; n=10), EDTA plasma (90-101%, 87-97%, 86-91%; n=10), and heparin plasma (86-104%, 85-101%, 86-94%; n=10). Recovery ranges are 86-104% for serum (average 97%), 94-105% for EDTA plasma (average 99%), and 89-100% for heparin plasma (average 96%). The protocol uses a biotin-labeled antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate development, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.
