Rat Orexin ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of orexin in rat samples. Orexin, also known as hypocretin, is a neuropeptide that plays a key role in regulating sleep, appetite, and energy balance, and its dysregulation is associated with sleep disorders, obesity, and other metabolic conditions, making the kit a useful tool for research in neurobiology and metabolic disease.

The double-antibody sandwich format uses colorimetric detection and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay reports a sensitivity of 4.688 pg/mL and a standard range of 7.813-500 pg/mL, with the kit stable at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions was 87-97%, 84-99%, and 83-100% for serum (n=5); 85-105%, 84-98%, and 85-100% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 86-102%, 90-101%, and 81-98% for heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery was 94-104% in serum (average 98%, n=5), 88-104% in EDTA plasma (average 97%, n=5), and 96-102% in heparin plasma (average 100%, n=5).
