Quantitative in vitro measurement of the rat norepinephrine transporter (NET, encoded by SLC6A2) is supported by this ELISA kit from Assay Genie. NET is a presynaptic plasma-membrane transporter that clears released norepinephrine from the synaptic cleft and is the principal molecular target of antidepressants such as atomoxetine and reboxetine, as well as stimulants such as cocaine and amphetamine. Investigators apply the kit to neuroscience studies of adrenergic signaling, monoamine transporter regulation, cardiovascular and sympathetic-nervous-system research, and screening of pharmacological agents acting on adrenergic targets.

Validated for rat tissue homogenates and cell lysates, the assay runs on a standard microplate with a colorimetric readout and is configured as 96 assays per kit. Researchers using cell-culture models, rodent tissue preparations, or in vitro expression systems can integrate this kit into workflows examining transporter density, regulation, or drug effects. The package includes a pre-coated plate, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution.
