Rat Nidogen-2 (Nid2) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich-format ELISA kit designed for the quantitative measurement of rat Nidogen-2 (NID-2). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reactivity is specific to rat samples and the product is intended for research use only.

According to the manufacturer datasheet, the kit delivers a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.313ng/mL. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant rat Nidogen-2. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery figures are provided with the kit.

Nidogen-2 is described as a cell adhesion glycoprotein widely distributed in basement membranes, binding collagens I and IV, perlecan and laminin 1 but not fibulins. The protein has a reported molecular weight of 20,123 Da (UniProt B5DFC9) and is localised to the extracellular space, extracellular matrix and basement membrane. The kit is positioned for neuroscience research, with dysregulation of Nidogen-2 implicated in cancer, cardiovascular and neurological conditions.
