Rat Neurotensin ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a Competitive ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative measurement of neurotensin in rat-derived research samples. The assay is coated with antigen and uses a colorimetric detection method, with reactivity confirmed for rat specimens. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Quantitative performance is supported by a sensitivity of 0.938 pg/mL and an assay range of 1.563-100 pg/mL. Validation data report recovery in serum (88-102%, average 97%), EDTA plasma (87-102%, average 98%), and heparin plasma (92-104%, average 98%), with n=10 per matrix. Across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, linearity for serum was 85-102%, for EDTA plasma 82-101%, and for heparin plasma 80-100%.

Neurotensin is a neuropeptide involved in regulating neurotransmission and gastrointestinal motility, and imbalances have been linked to schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, and inflammatory bowel disease, supporting its value as a biomarker for related research. The standard protocol uses a biotin-labeled antibody with HRP-streptavidin TMB detection, with absorbance measured at 450 nm.
