Rat NEF3/Neurofilament 3 ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of neurofilament 3 (NEF3) in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, CSF, and other liquid samples, with reactivity confirmed for rat.

The assay delivers a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL across a standard range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Linearity has been demonstrated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma: serum linearity ranges of 85–99%, 82–96% and 82–95% at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions respectively; EDTA plasma linearity ranges of 83–97%, 80–99% and 82–95%; and heparin plasma linearity ranges of 82–98%, 80–100% and 83–97%. Recovery ranges are 92–105% (average 97%) in serum, 86–99% (average 93%) in EDTA plasma, and 87–105% (average 93%) in heparin plasma. Reagents should be stored at 2-8°C and the kit remains stable for 12 months under these conditions. NEF3, also known as neurofilament medium polypeptide, is a structural protein involved in maintaining neuronal integrity, making this kit a useful tool for research into neurodegenerative disorders and nerve injury.

The procedure follows a standard sandwich ELISA workflow: equilibrate reagents and load standards, samples and blanks onto the pre-coated plate; incubate at 37°C for 90 minutes; add biotin-labeled detection antibody and incubate for 60 minutes; add HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes; develop with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes; and read absorbance at 450 nm after adding stop solution.
