Rat NEF3 (Neurofilament 3) ELISA Kit (RTES01172)

A sandwich ELISA platform from Assay Genie is configured for in vitro quantitative determination of Neurofilament 3 (NEF3), also known as neurofilament medium polypeptide (NF-M), in rat-derived samples including serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, cell culture supernatant, and cell or tissue lysates. Read the chromogenic reaction at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader, and interpolate sample concentrations from the generated standard curve.

Performance characterization indicates intra-assay CVs of approximately 5.34–5.59% and inter-assay CVs of 5.27–5.56% across low, medium, and high concentration controls. Spike-and-recovery values average around 97% in serum, 93% in EDTA plasma, and 93% in heparin plasma, while serial dilution linearity in serum ranges from 82–99% across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions. The antibody pair shows species-specific binding to rat NEF3 with no obvious cross-reactivity against analogous intermediate filament proteins.

Typical research applications include tracking axonal damage and nerve regeneration in rat models of peripheral neuropathy, neurotoxicology exposure studies, and biomarker discovery work on motor and sensory neuron integrity. Use50 uL sample per well for serum, plasma, or CSF, or 100 uL for cell culture supernatant and lysates, and keep all components refrigerated at 2-8°C protected from light until the printed expiration date. Reconstituted standards and prepared samples should not be exposed to repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the concentrated biotinylated antibody (100X) as well as HRP-streptavidin conjugate (100X) should be stored away from direct light.
