Description

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative detection of rat Natriuretic peptides B (Nppb) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with rat samples and uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 15.69pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.1%. Specificity is confirmed for natural and recombinant rat Natriuretic peptides B. Linearity was assessed across dilution series of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (95-107%, 82-82%, 93-102%, 88-98%), EDTA plasma (91-100%, 90-100%, 90-100%, 95-107%) and heparin plasma (94-104%, 103-111%, 107-120%, 87-97%). Recovery averaged 103% in serum (range 97-109%) and 105% in plasma (range 99-111%).

Nppb, also referred to as B-type natriuretic peptide and gamma-brain natriuretic peptide, is a secreted cardiac hormone that contributes to cardiovascular homeostasis through natriuresis, diuresis, vasorelaxation, and inhibition of renin and aldosterone secretion; it specifically binds and stimulates cGMP production of the NPR1 receptor and also binds the clearance receptor NPR3. The associated UniProt entry is P13205, with a listed molecular weight of 13,656 Da. For research use only.
