Rat Myelin Basic Protein (MBP) ELISA Kit

Myelin basic protein (MBP) is a major structural component of the myelin sheath surrounding axons in the central nervous system, and changes in circulating or tissue MBP concentrations are widely used as a biomarker in neuroimmunology and neuroscience research.

The Assay Genie Rat MBP ELISA Kit provides quantitative measurement of MBP in rat-derived samples using a colorimetric readout on a standard microplate reader.

Applications include experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) studies, demyelination research, traumatic brain injury assessment, toxicology screening, biomarker discovery for multiple sclerosis, glial cell biology, and characterization of neurodegenerative disease models.

The microplate supports 96 determinations and works with sample types including tissue homogenates and cerebrospinal fluid. Workflow uses a matched-pair antibody procedure with all reagents supplied in the kit, and absorbance values are interpreted against a standard curve generated from calibrators included with the assay.
