Rat Myc proto-oncogene protein (Myc) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of rat Myc proto-oncogene protein, also referred to as Proto-oncogene c-Myc or Transcription factor p64. Using a colorimetric readout, the assay is reactive with rat samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatant and other biological fluids. Performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL, sensitivity of 14.8pg/mL, intra-assay CV of 4.2% and inter-assay CV of 5.6%. Spike-and-recovery averages 87% (range 81-93%) for serum and 89% (range 83-95%) for plasma. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant rat Myc proto-oncogene protein.

Functionally, Myc is a transcription factor that binds DNA in a non-specific manner while also specifically recognizing the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3', and it activates the transcription of growth-related genes. The target protein localizes to the nucleus, nucleoplasm and nucleolus, with UniProt accession P09416. For research use only.
