Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative measurement of Muellerian-inhibiting factor (Amh), also known as Anti-Muellerian hormone (AMH), Muellerian-inhibiting substance or MIS, in rat samples. The assay is reactive with rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant rat Muellerian-inhibiting factor.

Reported performance specifications include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.158 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.8%. Linearity has been demonstrated for serum (ranges of 106-118%, 111-120%, 102-114% and 110-119% across serial dilutions), EDTA plasma (105-115%, 82-92%, 90-99% and 109-117%) and heparin plasma (99-110%, 101-113%, 96-107% and 106-114%). Mean recovery is 100% (range 94-106%) for serum and 102% (range 96-108%) for plasma.

Muellerian-inhibiting factor is a secreted glycoprotein produced by Sertoli cells of the testis that drives regression of the Muellerian duct and can inhibit the growth of tumors derived from Muellerian duct-origin tissues. It acts as a ligand for MIS receptor II, suppressing female primary and secondary sexual development to permit male sexual differentiation. The protein is a disulfide-linked homodimer associated with UniProt entry P49000 and NCBI Gene ID 25378 (official symbol Amh; synonym MIS), with a reported molecular weight of 58,889 Da.
