Rat Monocarboxylate transporter 1/SLC16A1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA in a double-antibody format, from Assay Genie, for the quantitative measurement of Monocarboxylate Transporter 1 (SLC16A1) in rat samples. The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with detection based on a colorimetric TMB substrate read at 450 nm.

Recovery has been characterised in serum (average 94%, range 87–105%), EDTA plasma (average 91%, range 88–93%) and heparin plasma (average 93%, range 85–101%). Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The procedure involves primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution. SLC16A1 mediates the transport of lactate and pyruvate across cell membranes, contributing to energy metabolism and pH regulation, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer, diabetes and neurological disorders.
