Description
A high-quality Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the precise measurement of MMP10 (matrix metalloproteinase 10, also known as stromelysin-2) levels in rat serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich detection format and is reactive with rat samples.
Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/ml and an assay range of 15.625–1000 pg/ml. Recovery was tested by spiking matrices: serum (n=5) ranged 90–105% with an average of 97%, EDTA plasma (n=5) ranged 87–104% averaging 94%, and UFH plasma (n=5) ranged 86–105% averaging 96%. Linearity across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8) was demonstrated as percentage of calculated versus expected concentration, with serum (n=5) at 86–105%, EDTA plasma (n=5) at 82–101%, and UFH plasma (n=5) at 80–99%. Intra-assay precision is reported as CV <8% and inter-assay precision as CV <10%. The kit is stored at 4°C for 6 months and is intended for research use only.
MMP10 is a key enzyme involved in tissue remodeling and extracellular matrix degradation. According to UniProt entry P07152, it can degrade fibronectin and gelatins of types I, III, IV, and V, weakly degrade collagens III, IV, and V, and activates procollagenase. Dysregulation of MMP10 has been linked to cancer, inflammatory diseases, and cardiovascular disorders, providing a valuable tool for researchers investigating disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
