Rat MMP1 ELISA Kit

Designed for researchers quantifying matrix metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1) in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format to deliver sensitive and specific measurements relevant to studies of extracellular matrix remodelling, tissue repair, arthritis, cardiovascular disease and cancer. MMP1 is an enzyme involved in collagen breakdown and tissue remodelling, and elevated levels have been associated with a range of pathological conditions.

The assay has a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and operates across a range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. It is compatible with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with detection carried out colorimetrically. Unopened kits are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Validation data demonstrate consistent performance across sample types. Linearity ranges from 82–101% in serum (n=5), 82–97% in EDTA plasma (n=5) and 86–100% in heparin plasma (n=5) at 1:2 dilution, with comparable results at 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions. Recovery averages 97% for serum (range 88–100%), 94% for EDTA plasma (range 87–103%) and 92% for heparin plasma (range 88–103%). The procedure involves equilibrating reagents, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding, HRP-Streptavidin incubation, TMB colour development, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.
