Rat MMP-13 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Sandwich ELISA Kit with a double-antibody format is designed for the quantitative measurement of MMP-13 in rat biological samples. The colorimetric assay supports research into MMP-13, also known as collagenase-3, a key enzyme involved in extracellular matrix breakdown and tissue remodeling whose dysregulation has been linked to conditions such as arthritis, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. The kit offers a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.313–20 ng/mL, with components supplied for storage at 2–8°C for up to 12 months. Linearity in serum (n=5) spans 88–99% at 1:2, 88–104% at 1:4, and 92–105% at 1:8 dilutions; EDTA plasma gives 82–99% at 1:2 and 1:4 and 89–101% at 1:8; heparin plasma gives 81–93% (1:2), 93–100% (1:4), and 83–96% (1:8). Recovery ranges are 92–105% (average 98%) for serum, 89–101% (average 95%) for EDTA plasma, and 88–105% (average 97%) for heparin plasma.

The procedure follows a standard sandwich ELISA workflow: reagent and plate equilibration to room temperature, a 37°C primary incubation of 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin (SABC) binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate colour development for 10–20 minutes in the dark, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.
