Rat Microtubule-associated protein tau (Mapt) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of rat Microtubule-associated protein tau (Mapt), also referenced by the synonyms Neurofibrillary tangle protein, Paired helical filament-tau, PHF-tau, Mtapt and Tau. The assay is reactive with rat samples and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance figures include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/ml, a sensitivity of 7.8pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Recovery has been quoted at an average of 82% (range 80-88%) for serum and 84% (range 80-90%) for plasma. Specificity covers natural and recombinant rat Microtubule-associated protein tau.

The Mapt target (UniProt P19332, NCBI Gene ID 29477, reported molecular weight 80.4kD) is a microtubule-associated protein that promotes microtubule assembly and stability and is involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. According to the supplied datasheet, it is mostly found in the axons of neurons, in the cytosol and in association with plasma membrane components.
