The Assay Genie rat MAP4 immunoassay quantifies microtubule-associated protein 4 levels in rat-derived samples, providing a quantitative readout for studies of cytoskeletal regulation. MAP4 is a ubiquitously expressed microtubule-stabilizing protein that binds along the microtubule lattice, is phosphorylated by MARK/Par-1 kinases during mitosis, and contributes to cell cycle progression, vesicle trafficking, and remodeling of the cytoskeleton in non-neuronal tissues. Rat MAP4 has been implicated in models of neurodegeneration, diabetic nephropathy, vascular smooth muscle remodeling, and cytoskeletal changes in hepatic and cardiac stress.

This ELISA Kit is supplied in a 96 assays microplate format, is reactive with rat samples including tissue homogenates, and is intended for research use only. Researchers can apply the kit to compare MAP4 expression between control and treated cohorts, monitor time-course responses to pharmacological or genetic manipulation, and examine how kinase-driven phosphorylation alters microtubule stability. Storing reagents refrigerated between uses helps preserve antibody binding activity across runs.
