Rat Metallothionein-2 (Mt2) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich-format immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Metallothionein-2 (Mt2) in rat samples. The kit detects natural and recombinant rat Metallothionein-2, also known by the synonyms Metallothionein-II, MT-II, and MT-2, and is intended for research use only within the epigenetics field.

It uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method with a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.338ng/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 5.4% and an inter-assay CV of 10.2%. The kit is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Recovery testing demonstrated averages of 100% for serum (range 94-106%) and 102% for plasma (range 96-108%). Linearity was evaluated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma matrices.

Metallothionein-2 has a high content of cysteine residues that bind various heavy metals and is transcriptionally regulated by both heavy metals and glucocorticoids, making it a valuable biomarker for studies of metal toxicity and oxidative stress.
