Rat Metallothionein 1 (MT1) ELISA Kit

This immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies metallothionein 1 (MT1) in rat specimens using a colorimetric microplate-based format. The assay targets rat MT1 specifically, supporting its use with samples from rat experimental models. MT1 is a low-molecular-weight, cysteine-rich protein that sequesters divalent metals such as zinc and cadmium, and its expression rises sharply in response to heavy-metal exposure, oxidative stress, and inflammatory signalling. Quantifying MT1 levels therefore supports toxicology, environmental health, and pharmacology studies in rodent systems.

Supplied as a complete reagent set with pre-coated plate wells, a calibrator series, enzyme-labelled detection antibody, substrate, and wash buffer sufficient for 96 reactions, the kit accommodates tissue homogenates alongside liquid specimens prepared from plasma and serum. Samples are run with the supplied calibrators to interpolate MT1 concentrations from the generated standard curve. Reagents should be stored refrigerated, protected from light, and used before the indicated shelf life to preserve activity.
