Rat Melatonin ELISA Kit

This Competitive ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of melatonin in rat samples using a colorimetric, antigen-coated format. It is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

The assay has a reported sensitivity of 4.688 pg/mL and a detection range of 7.813-500 pg/mL, with absorbance measured at 450 nm. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions falls within 81-104% for serum, 84-103% for EDTA plasma, and 84-103% for heparin plasma. Reported average recovery values are 96% for serum, 94% for EDTA plasma, and 96% for heparin plasma.

Melatonin is described as a hormone regulating the sleep-wake cycle and involved in immune function, antioxidant activity, and reproductive health, and is used as a biomarker in studies of insomnia, depression, and metabolic disorders.
