MCP-1 (Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1), also designated CCL2, is a CC-chemokine that orchestrates monocyte and macrophage trafficking during inflammation and has become a widely quantified biomarker in cardiovascular, metabolic, renal, and neuroinflammatory research models in rats.

The Assay Genie Rat MCP-1 kit supports quantitative measurement of endogenous chemokine in rat-derived cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, tissue lysates, and blood fractions. Researchers apply this workflow to monitor monocyte infiltration kinetics, profile cytokine responses after pharmacological intervention, characterize disease models such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and diet-induced obesity, and benchmark inflammatory readouts across treatment cohorts.
