Rat MAO-A/ Monoamine Oxidase A ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie using a double antibody format enables quantification of Monoamine Oxidase A (MAO-A) in rat samples. The kit accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is intended for metabolism research. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development.

Monoamine oxidase A is an enzyme involved in the metabolism of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Dysregulation of MAO-A has been associated with neuropsychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia, supporting research applications in these areas.

Linearity testing showed serum values of 94-103% at 1:2 dilution declining to 84-99% at 1:8, with comparable results in EDTA plasma (86-105% to 88-94%) and heparin plasma (86-101% to 83-96%). Recovery averaged 97% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma, and 98% in heparin plasma. The protocol includes a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, biotinylated detection antibody binding, HRP-streptavidin conjugation, and TMB color development in the dark for 10-20 minutes.
