Rat Lumican (Lum) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of rat lumican in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant rat lumican.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.316ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.4%. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery of 80-92% (average 86%) in serum and 82-94% (average 88%) in plasma.

Lumican is a small leucine-rich proteoglycan involved in extracellular matrix organisation and regulation, with roles in collagen fibril organisation, corneal transparency, and epithelial cell migration and tissue repair. The protein binds laminin, and dysregulated expression has been linked to corneal disorders, cancer and fibrosis. The kit is for research use only.
