Description

This high-quality Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in rat samples using a colorimetric double-antibody method. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Described by the manufacturer as a reliable and accurate tool for measuring LDL levels, the kit is positioned for research applications in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular disease.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 3.75 ng/mL and an assay range of 6.25-400 ng/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions is reported at 85-99%, 92-101%, and 83-98% for serum (n=5); 88-104%, 87-101%, and 85-100% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 87-104%, 82-100%, and 83-93% for heparin plasma (n=5). Spike-and-recovery ranges are 92-105% (average 99%) for serum (n=5), 92-104% (average 98%) for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 87-100% (average 93%) for heparin plasma (n=5).

The assay workflow consists of a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. Unopened kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
