Rat LBP (Lipolysaccharide Binding Protein) CLIA Kit (RTES00362)

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of rat Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (Lbp), also known as LBP or LPS-binding protein. The assay is reactive with rat samples and intended for research use only. It detects natural and recombinant rat Lbp in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.42 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.1% and inter-assay CV is 10.0%.

Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Across the dilution series, serum ranged 95-119%, EDTA plasma 86-123% and heparin plasma 89-120%. Mean recovery is 97% in serum (range 91-103%) and 99% in plasma (range 93-105%).

Lbp plays a role in the innate immune response, binding to the lipid A moiety of bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. It acts as an affinity enhancer for CD14, facilitating its association with LPS, and promotes the release of cytokines in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide. The kit supports research in the field of immunology.
