Rat Latent-transforming growth factor beta-binding protein 2 (Ltbp2) ELISA Kit

The assay reacts with natural and recombinant rat Latent-transforming growth factor beta-binding protein 2 and is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. According to the manufacturer, the kit has a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.178 ng/mL.

LTBP2 is a secreted extracellular matrix protein (UniProt O35806; NCBI Gene ID 59106; molecular weight 189,867 Da) that may play an integral structural role in elastic-fiber architectural organization and/or assembly and may be involved in the assembly, secretion and targeting of TGF-beta to sites at which it is stored and/or activated. Dysregulation of LTBP2 has been linked to several diseases, including cancer, fibrosis, and developmental disorders. The protein is the subject of research within the Signal Transduction area, and defects are associated with primary congenital glaucoma type 3D (GLC3D), microspherophakia, and Weill-Marchesani syndrome 3 (WMS3).
