Rat Lanosterol synthase (Lss) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this colorimetric Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of rat Lanosterol synthase (Lss) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Lanosterol synthase is a key enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, where it catalyzes the cyclization of (S)-2,3 oxidosqualene to lanosterol to form the sterol nucleus, contributing to lipid metabolism and cellular homeostasis. Dysregulation of LSS has been implicated in metabolic disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for cardiovascular and related research.

The assay reports a detection range of 0.312–20 nmol/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156 nmol/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with recoveries averaging 91% for serum (range 85–97%) and 93% for plasma (range 87–99%). Detection relies on absorbance measurement at 450 nm, and the kit is specific for natural and recombinant rat Lanosterol synthase.
