Rat Islet amyloid polypeptide (Iapp) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA Kit for the quantitative detection of rat Islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP), also referred to by the synonyms Amylin and Diabetes-associated peptide (DAP). The assay is reactive with rat samples and is specific for natural and recombinant rat Islet amyloid polypeptide. IAPP is described as a peptide hormone produced by pancreatic beta cells that selectively inhibits insulin-stimulated glucose utilisation and glycogen deposition in muscle, while not affecting adipocyte glucose metabolism.

The kit uses a colorimetric detection method with a stated detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39pg/mL. Reported intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 9.4%. Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.
