Quantify insulin-degrading enzyme levels in rat-derived samples with this purpose-built immunoassay kit from Assay Genie. Insulin Degrading Enzyme (IDE), also known as insulysin, is a zinc-dependent metalloprotease that hydrolyzes insulin, glucagon, amyloid-beta peptide, and several other bioactive substrates, making it a focal target in type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and metabolic disorder research.

This kit is calibrated for quantitative measurement of native IDE in tissue homogenates and cell lysates prepared from rat sources, supporting studies of proteolytic regulation in pancreatic, hepatic, and neural tissue. Each kit contains pre-coated plate(s), standards, detection antibody, and reagents sufficient for a defined number of determinations; refrigerate all components upon arrival and allow them to equilibrate before use to preserve binding activity.

Researchers investigating beta-cell function, amyloid clearance pathways, or the cross-talk between insulin signaling and neurodegeneration can use the assay to track enzyme abundance across experimental conditions, treatment groups, and disease models. The kit is configured for in vitro research use only and is not intended for diagnostic applications. Stated specifications include rat reactivity, compatibility with cell lysates and tissue homogenates, and a complete reagent set useful in laboratory workflows that already include a compatible microplate reader.
