The colorimetric assay supports a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Recovery in serum averages 87% (range 81-93%) and in plasma averages 89% (range 83-95%). Linearity has been evaluated across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions.

IL6ST (also known as gp130, CD130, Oncostatin-M receptor subunit alpha, Membrane glycoprotein 130, and IL-6 receptor subunit beta) is a signal-transducing molecule that serves as a component of receptor complexes for IL6, LIF, OSM, CNTF, IL11, CTF1 and BSF3. Localised to the cell membrane as a single-pass type I membrane protein, it plays a role in immune response, hematopoiesis, pain control, bone metabolism and embryonic development.
