Rat IL-6 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS1665)

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a pleiotropic cytokine central to acute phase responses, B-cell maturation, and T-cell differentiation. This two-antibody immunoassay from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of rat IL-6 across various sample matrices including cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, blood-derived fractions, and tissue lysates using a pre-coated microplate.

The assay pairs a capture antibody specific to rat IL-6 with a biotinylated detection antibody and an HRP conjugate for enzymatic signal generation. Recombinant rat IL-6 standards are supplied to generate a calibration curve typically spanning 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL, with sensitivity around 5 pg/mL. Recommended sample volume is 100 µL per well.

Research applications include inflammation and endotoxemia models in rats, rheumatoid arthritis progression, and cytokine profiling following immunomodulator treatment. The kit contains the pre-coated plate, lyophilized standard, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP, wash buffer concentrate, TMB substrate, and stop solution.
