Rat IL-6 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Sandwich ELISA kit provides a colorimetric, double-antibody method for quantifying Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in rat samples, with validated reactivity for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is also reported to work with blood and related supernatant fractions. The target corresponds to Uniprot P20607 and is referenced under synonyms IL6, BSF2, HGF, HSF, IFNB2 and CDF. The product is positioned for immunology research applications.

Sensitivity is 37.5 pg/mL and the standard curve range is 62.5–4000 pg/mL. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 86–103%, 86–99% and 86–98% for serum (n=5); 92–98%, 90–101% and 83–100% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 81–100%, 80–99% and 86–98% for heparin plasma (n=5). Spike-and-recovery averages are 98% in serum (range 87–105%), 96% in EDTA plasma (range 85–103%) and 100% in heparin plasma (range 94–105%).

The protocol proceeds through reagent equilibration to room temperature, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C, a 30-minute HRP-Streptavidin step at 37°C, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution is added.
