Rat IL-2 ELISA Kit (RTEB0056)

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of Interleukin-2 (IL-2) in rat samples. It is reactive with rat IL-2 and shows specificity for natural and recombinant rat Interleukin-2. Accepted sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method and is supplied with components including an ELISA microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution, and plate sealers.

The assay has a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.92 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.3% and inter-assay CV is 8.6%. Linearity has been verified in serum at 98–107% (1:2), 105–116% (1:4), 82–93% (1:8) and 111–120% (1:16); in EDTA plasma at 96–105%, 95–104%, 103–114% and 104–113%; and in heparin plasma at 91–101%, 97–106%, 100–110% and 94–105%. Recovery is reported as an average of 98% (range 92–104%) in serum and 100% (range 94–106%) in plasma.

Rat IL-2 (UniProt P17108; NCBI gene symbol Il2) is a secreted cytokine with a molecular weight of 17,633 Da, also known as T-cell growth factor (TCGF). Produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation, this protein is required for T-cell proliferation and other activities crucial to regulation of the immune response, and can stimulate B-cells, monocytes, lymphokine-activated killer cells, natural killer cells, and glioma cells.
