Rat ICTP ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of ICTP (C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen) in rat samples. The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich format and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Reported sensitivity is 0.188 ng/mL with an assay range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Unopened kits are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. The procedure involves incubating the plate at 37°C (90 minutes for primary binding, 60 minutes with biotin-labelled detection antibody, 30 minutes with HRP-Streptavidin), developing colour with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and reading absorbance at 450 nm after stop solution is added. Reported linearity for serum ranges from 82-101% to 90-99% across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions; recovery in serum averages 93% (range 89-103%), in EDTA plasma averages 96% (range 86-100%), and in heparin plasma averages 92% (range 86-101%).

ICTP is a biomarker associated with bone turnover and collagen degradation, and the kit is described as a tool for studying bone-related diseases such as osteoporosis and bone metastases, as well as for gaining insights into bone metabolism and disease progression.
