Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the precise and accurate quantification of Hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1A) in rat samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is reactive with rat and detects natural and recombinant rat HIF1A using a colorimetric ELISA detection method in a Solid Phase format.

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 3.9pg/mL and a detection range of 7.8-500pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.4% and inter-assay CV is 6.1%. Linearity was demonstrated across serum (98-109% at 1:2, 80-93% at 1:4, 102-111% at 1:8, 103-111% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (89-99%, 106-115%, 85-94%, 100-110%) and heparin plasma (100-108%, 91-99%, 112-122%, 101-113%). Recovery averaged 102% (range 96-108%) for serum and 104% (range 98-110%) for plasma. The associated UniProt accession is O35800.

HIF1A acts as a master transcriptional regulator of the adaptive response to hypoxia, activating the transcription of over 40 genes under low-oxygen conditions, including erythropoietin, glucose transporters, glycolytic enzymes, vascular endothelial growth factor and HILPDA, and playing an essential part in embryonic vascularisation, tumour angiogenesis and the pathophysiology of ischaemic disease. The kit is for research use only, is stored at -20°C and is shipped at +4°C.
