Hydroxyacyl-Coenzyme A Dehydrogenase Beta (HADHb) is the catalytic beta subunit of the mitochondrial trifunctional protein, an enzyme complex responsible for the final three steps of mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation. This Assay Genie ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of HADHb protein in rat tissue homogenates and cell lysates, supporting research into inborn errors of fatty acid oxidation, mitochondrial trifunctional protein deficiency, and metabolic adaptations in cardiac, hepatic, and skeletal muscle tissue.

The kit is supplied as a 96-assay pack and uses a colorimetric readout on a standard microplate reader. Reagents are provided with pre-coated plates, detection antibodies, and recombinant standards calibrated against purified rat HADHb. For sample preparation, tissues are homogenized in cold lysis buffer containing protease inhibitors, and clarified lysates are loaded directly or after appropriate dilution.

Reagent components should be stored refrigerated upon arrival and protected from light to preserve activity. Reconstituted standards and unused aliquots may be frozen at -80 degrees C for extended stability. The product is intended for research use only in laboratory workflows studying lipid catabolism, oxidative phosphorylation coupling, and mitochondrial energetics.
