Description

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) in rat serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with TMB substrate and absorbance reading at 450 nm.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 37.5 pg/mL and a standard range of 62.5-4000 pg/mL. Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 87-104% / 82-100% / 80-90% for serum (n=5), 86-102% / 86-101% / 81-100% for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 86-100% / 89-101% / 84-96% for heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery averages are 98% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 94% for heparin plasma. Components are stored at 2-8°C and are stable for 12 months.

HGF is a growth factor involved in cell growth, proliferation and migration, with roles in tissue regeneration, wound healing and organ development. Dysregulation of HGF has been implicated in cancer, liver disease and tissue fibrosis, making it a biomarker of research interest. The sample protocol includes reagent equilibration, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, 60-minute biotinylated detection antibody binding, 30-minute HRP-Streptavidin binding, and TMB color development in the dark for 10–20 minutes before stop and absorbance reading at 450 nm.
