Rat Hexokinase/HK ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of hexokinase (HK) in rat samples. Using a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, the assay is suitable for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Sensitivity is 18.75 pg/mL, with a measuring range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL.

Hexokinase is an essential enzyme that catalyses the first committed step of glucose metabolism, converting glucose to glucose-6-phosphate. The kit is intended for research use in studies of glucose metabolism and conditions where dysregulation of hexokinase has been implicated, including diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. Unopened kits should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Assay linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8, with recoveries averaging 99% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma and 96% for heparin plasma. The procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, biotinylated detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.
