Rat Hepcidin (Hamp) ELISA Kit

This colorimetric Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of rat hepcidin (Hamp) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay shows reactivity with rat samples and detects both natural and recombinant rat hepcidin, a secreted signaling molecule described as a signaling molecule involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis, intestinal iron absorption and iron storage in macrophages, and which may also have antimicrobial activity.

The kit reports a detection range of 78–5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39 pg/mL. An Intra CV of 5.3% and an Inter CV of 9.2% are reported. Spike-and-recovery data show serum recovery averaging 96% (range 90–102%) and plasma recovery averaging 98% (range 92–104%). The target hepcidin peptide (UniProt Q99MH3) has a stated molecular weight of 9,286 Da, and optical density is read at 450 nm.
